The Brotherhood of Beer

5 Aug

Beer and friends. Not just any bunch of people, who you’d call friends when they would be less than mere aquaintances. These were as genuine as it can be.

Comrades among which you can be yourself, devoid of any masks, minus any pretensions used in day to day interactions with the rest of the world. Here , great company accompanied with glorious alcohol leads to stimulating discussion. Not your politically correct rhetoric that is usually a standard feature with our facades that help us get through the day. But that utopian core that inhibits us all, finds flow in words, creating a paradise of camaraderie like no other.

Gone were the stresses of the day. In it’s place was a feeling so unique, you’d think you were in a different world all together. It’s amazing what implicit trust can do. Even more so when the same feeling is shared in totality. The same thread of thought weaving it’s way through all those present.

At first you’d assume it to be caused by joyous , celestial liquor . A “buzz” or a “high” as it’s called in some circles. However, when it still exists even after the highs are replaced with the lows , you know that it’s something special. Something irreplaceable, which would exist even if there wasn’t any intoxicants around.

You then realize that beer is just the excuse to meet. It’s the individuals that make a difference. For these rally to form a bond. Set in beer foam and lasting even after the last drop of spirit has been exhausted. This is the permanence of trust. An allegiance of men, who are as diverse as one could possibly imagine.

And with such an act of loyalty, they’ve stumbled upon something beyond their wildest dreams.

Immortality.
